About Me

My name is Magali Barthélemy and I am a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). I was born in France but have lived in the UK for the last 33 years, with long periods spent in Barcelona, where my partner is from. I am fortunate to be fluent in French, English and Spanish.

My professional background is in higher education. In 2006, however, I developed serious health issues which eventually led to a long hospital stay in 2012. This experience introduced me to the world of rehabilitation and chronic illness, and to the profound impact that health challenges can have on our professional and family lives.

It was the beginning of a significant shift in my life and, ultimately, in my career. In 2017, I retrained in Applied Positive Psychology with Bucks New University, followed in 2018 by training in Business and Personal Coaching with Barefoot (ICF endorsed).

Meditation has been a crucial part of my life for the last twenty-five years. I subsequently qualified as a Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher with the Positive School of Transformation and have developed a particular interest in Mindful Self-Compassion and Somatic Self-Compassion.

Wanting to bring all these practices together and increasingly convinced of the importance of the mind-body connection, I began training in Sophrology with the Sophrology Academy in 2025.

But SimpliBe was not born purely from my professional training. It came from a realisation I had one morning when I woke up with a deep-rooted feeling that life was, in fact, much simpler than it appeared — despite our circumstances and despite what our minds might tell us.

That realisation led me to a question:

How can we reconnect with our essence and learn to live a more authentic life?

SimpliBe is my response to that question. It brings together my formal training, my personal experiences and everything I have learnt along the way, to support people on their own journey of self-discovery and transformation.

I particularly work with Highly Sensitive People, women in midlife and menopause, and people who feel that they have lost touch with themselves or are struggling with self-regulation.

At the heart of my work is the belief that we can learn to listen to ourselves differently — to understand what our mind and body are communicating, develop greater self-awareness and self-compassion, and find ways of responding to life rather than simply reacting to it.

I take a holistic and individual approach, drawing on coaching, positive psychology, mindfulness, meditation, self-compassion and, increasingly, sophrology and body-based approaches. There is no single formula: what matters is finding the approaches that meet you where you are and support what you need at that particular point in your life.
